A little about this year's camp:

“Once Upon a 4-H Camp Clifton” at the beautiful site near the Clifton Gorge lived a group of campers from Champaign County for an entire week during June 25-29, 2019.   The campers arrive full of excitement for the fun filled 5-day adventure on June 25th at 3pm.  The camper’s adult helps them find their palace, meet the counselor and help them make their beds to snuggle in after an exhausting day of play and learning each night while at camp.

On the first day, campers will divide up into kingdoms.  Throughout the week the kingdoms will have challenges to earn points for a surprise to the winning kingdom at the end of the week.  The challenges will start on the first evening.  The campers will enjoy daily feast at 8am, noon, and 5:30pm in the royal dining room.  Following the first feast, campers will enjoy an evening swimming in the lagoon, laughing hysterically at the first peek of princess training, and reflecting the first day of the Clifton tale.

The campers can choose to start the their day with an early morning hike, polar bear swim or catch a few extra zzzz’s. Then it’s awakening time for the kingdoms before the first feast of the day.  The campers have no one but themselves to clean up their tables after the feast, so they divide up and conquer the task each day.  All learn to clean up their palaces to compete to earn the Royal Sign, but be careful the Royal Sign is not stolen by the fire breathing dragons.

Each palace will make their own Signia shirts of many colors before the Royal Picture. Campers will be able to choose different adventures each day. One day, the campers will adventure to the land of Frozen to make their own ice cream. One night we will feast outside. There will be many fun adventures, challenges, and surprises throughout the week. Adults will return on June 29th to pick up their exhausted children and anticipate their exciting stories on the ride home or they may have to wait till they wake up from a long nap to hear about all the fun.

The cost of camp is $210 per 4-H member OR $230 for non-4-H members. Registrations DEADLINE is Friday, June 7th.  Multiple siblings attending camp will be $195 for 2nd child and $185 for 3rd child or more.  The cost of this 5-day fun filled camp is half the cost of many sports camps.  Scholarships are available for those with financial needs.  Contact the Extension Office for a scholarship application.  The deadline to apply for a scholarship is MAY 15th.  Payments can be made with check, cash or credit card.
