On March 18th from Noon to 4pm, Champaign County hosted a 4-H Healthy Living Camp. This was our 1st year of this type camp that focused on the 4th "H". The 4-H Family and Consumer Sciences Committee planned an afternoon filled with activities that challenged the attending 17 4-H members to focus on being the healthiest they can be. Those activities included a drug prevention talk by Mechanicsburg Police Officer Black along with a demonstration of his K-9 officer Max. We also had a yoga activity led by Betsy Moore of The Lotus Yoga. Members learned about the importance of exercise, proper hydration and avoiding added sugars to the diet. They topped off the day by making a smoothie that was powered by a kid-powered bicycle attached to a blender.
