While the recent colder weather has been telling a different story, the pantry and freezer are telling us it’s about time to start preserving food again! The OSU Extension Food Preservation Team is bringing you some helpful resources to get everyone ready for the summer food preservation season.

  1. Food Preservation Basics Summer Webinar Series – Join us every other Tuesday from May 4-June 29 as we go back-to-basics with canning, freezing, and drying.  View the Flyer for details and to register.
  2. Pressure Canner Testing – Pressure canner testing will be available across the state by appointment.  Champaign County will be offering 4 dates in June - Tuesdays on June 1, 15, 22, and 29 from 12:00 - 4:00 p.m. at the Extension office.  There will be a cost of $5 per canner lid tested.  View the flyer to find a convenient time and location for you, or register for the Champaign county dates using this link.
