The Ohio Department of Health now requires all food service facilities licensed at a 'Risk Level 3 or higher' to have at least one staff person who has completed an ODH approved Level 2 Food Safety training. Link to Ohio Department of Health's Food Safety Ohio Certification webpage

OSU Extension has partnered with TAP Series to offer an online course which meets all ODH requirements and replaces the 15 hour (2 day) classroom study requirement. Total cost only $120. Enrollment into the online training is $73 a person and the ODH approved examination at a test center is $47 per person. Check HERE<> to purchase training and examination.

An alternative to the on-line course is to attend classes. 

ServSafe Food Safety Training

The ServSafe program is the industry standard in food-safety training. The ServSafe program provides accurate, up-to-date information for all levels of employees in handling food, from receiving and storing to preparing and serving.

Employee Food Safety Training
(Level 1)

Following completion of this 4 hour course, your employee will receive a certificate of completion. This class meets the guidelines of the Ohio Department of Health's Level One certification in Food Protection.



ServSafe™ Manager Training
(Level 2)

You will learn new and revised food safety and health regulations in this sixteen hour class. Following successful examination, you will be certified by the National Restaurant and the Ohio Department of Health.


Who Should Attend: Owners, general managers, mid-level managers and key employees.



**Cancellation Policy**

Registration fees cannot be refunded. If notification of your inability to attend is received prior to the first session of the program, your paid registration will be honored at the next program offered by OSU Extension Champaign County. You must be officially enrolled in the new class prior to its registration deadline.
